a balladeer is a Dutch singer/songwriter band. One of those that still dares to write and play beautiful songs. Their songs are so striking EMI just had to sign him. And we just had to make their album covers.

The client: EMI

The briefing: Design an album cover that really tells the story behind the songs. Most of the songs are based on memories that made the songwriter who is. Good luck.

The result: We dove in a balladeer’s trunk full of old personal pictures, newspaper clippings and notes. What we found: haunting images of a car crash on the German autobahn during a summer holiday.
