a balladeer - Bambi Woods

EMI is one of the biggest names in music. But they do more than being big. EMI also has a taste for fresh talent and quality. That’s where a balladeer comes in.

The client: EMI

The briefing: This is an album about the other side of fame, full of songs about fakes, snakes and heartaches. And oh, yeah: the title refers to an American porn actress that mysteriously disappeared in the 70’s. Make us a fitting album cover. By tomorrow would be nice.

The result: We decided it would be fun to blur the line between ‘fake’ and ‘real’. So we took pictures of the band members, cut them out and stuck those cut outs in a miniature set. Then we took a picture of those cutouts in their new setting and made it look as real as possible. The result is a cover that looks unreal! (If we do say so ourselves).

This album is also released in the U.S. We redesigned the whole layout to fit a digipack.
